How to Cite a Book in MLA 9

MLA 9 uses a core elements model. The basic template for a book is:

Author Last, First. Title of Book. Publisher, Year.

Example

Brown, Brené. Daring Greatly. Avery, 2012.

Two or more authors

List the first author as Last, First, then "and" plus the remaining authors in normal order.

Edited book

Add edited by after the title: Title, edited by Editor Name, Publisher, Year.
