What the tool does
Paste a DOI, ISBN, webpage URL or source title and the generator looks for reliable metadata, then formats the reference in APA, MLA, Chicago, Harvard, IEEE, ACM, Vancouver, AMA, Nature and other common styles. If an unusual source cannot be found automatically, the manual citation form lets you fill in the missing fields yourself.
How references are formatted
We combine metadata from services such as Crossref, OpenLibrary and page-level metadata with the open Citation Style Language renderer. That means the same saved source can be re-rendered in a different style later, which is useful when a class, journal or supervisor changes requirements.
Why the workflow stays simple
One-off citation generation is free and does not require an account. Accounts are only for people who want to save references into projects, keep notes, switch styles across a bibliography or export sources to BibTeX, BibLaTeX, RIS, HTML and plain text.
